Serves 1.

  • 2 tbsp soft butter
  • 40g dark chocolate
  • 1 medium egg
  • 3 tbsp Jump/Ship Brewing's Stoker's Stout
  • 3 tbsp dark brown soft sugar
  • 4 tbsp self-raising flour
  • 3 tbsp icing sugar
  • 1 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tsp white sprinkles

  • In a 350ml, microwave-safe mug, place the butter and chocolate in the microwave for 10-20 seconds until melted.
  • Whisk in the egg until well combined. Add the stout, sugar, flour and a pinch of salt and stir until the batter is smooth and there are no lumps.
  • Place the mug in the microwave and cook for 2 minutes at 600W, 1 minute 45 seconds at 800W, or 1 minute 30 seconds at 1000W.
  • Carefully remove the mug from the microwave (it will be hot!) and let the cake cool for a minute or two.
  • To make the icing, mix the icing sugar and cream cheese until smooth, then spread over the cake once it’s cooled. Scatter with sprinkles to serve.
  • Grab a spoon and dig in! Enjoy the warm, rich flavours of this Chocolate Stout Mug Cake straight from the mug.
