Craving something sweet and satisfying but don't want to spend hours in the kitchen? This Chocolate Stout Mug Cake recipe from Jump/Ship Brewing is the perfect solution! Serves 1.
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp soft butter
- 40g dark chocolate
- 1 medium egg
- 3 tbsp Jump/Ship Brewing's Stoker's Stout
- 3 tbsp dark brown soft sugar
- 4 tbsp self-raising flour
- 3 tbsp icing sugar
- 1 tbsp cream cheese
- 1 tsp white sprinkles
Method:
- In a 350ml, microwave-safe mug, place the butter and chocolate in the microwave for 10-20 seconds until melted.
- Whisk in the egg until well combined. Add the stout, sugar, flour and a pinch of salt and stir until the batter is smooth and there are no lumps.
- Place the mug in the microwave and cook for 2 minutes at 600W, 1 minute 45 seconds at 800W, or 1 minute 30 seconds at 1000W.
- Carefully remove the mug from the microwave (it will be hot!) and let the cake cool for a minute or two.
- To make the icing, mix the icing sugar and cream cheese until smooth, then spread over the cake once it’s cooled. Scatter with sprinkles to serve.
