Serves 1.
Prep time: 5 minutes
How to enjoy: Serve the smashed avocado on toast promptly while the bread is still warm, creating a delicious and satisfying breakfast or brunch that pairs seamlessly with your favourite beverage.
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 slices of your favourite bread (sourdough or whole grain work well)
- 1/2 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Edinburgh Fermentarium's Braw Slaw
Method:
- Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Using a fork, gently mash the avocado until you achieve your desired level of smoothness. Some people prefer a chunkier texture, while others like it smoother.
- Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the smashed avocado. The lemon adds a refreshing flavour and helps prevent the avocado from browning too quickly. Adjust the amount of lemon juice to your taste preference.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper into the smashed avocado mixture. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Toast the slices of bread to your liking. Then spread the smashed avocado evenly over each slice of toasted bread.
- Add your Braw Slaw on top for some gut health goodness. Then serve and enjoy!
